Origami Instructions - Getting Started

Monday, November 26th, 2007

By Andre McFayden The birthplace of origami is still a mystery. Paper was developed in China in the first century A.D., and Buddhist monks brought it to Japan by the sixth century A.D. However there are not many written records from that time, so it is not known whether origami first began in China or Japan. However, no one will argue that Japan developed origami to a high art form. The word origami is Japanese: oru means “to fold”, and kami means “paper”. Many grownups remember making origami items as a child. It was often a case of watching as another youngster showed how to make a paper airplane or something similar. After a while, we develop a set of origami instructions in our head, for making several airplanes, boats, animals, water balloons and other toys. As it turns out, there are only so many ways to fold paper. Developing a “language” of folding helps simplify passing on origami teachings. Terms like “mountain fold” and “valley fold” are used over and over again. Basic fold patterns such as “square base” and “bird base” can be used as starting points for many different origami pieces. From the basic building blocks, an effectively infinite number of origami items can be made. Special origami kits are available. These contain squares of paper, often colored on one side only. This helps to enhance the three dimensional effect of the item being folded. The paper is also very thin, allowing it to be folded many times. Origami items can also be made from scrap paper, such as standard printer paper. This is often best for paper airplanes, due to its weight and size: larger airplanes (of a given design) generally fly better. True origami is made from one piece of paper without using scissors, glue or decorative items such as markers. However, remember that the goal is to have fun, so use what you like. The effect of origami as kids is to teach us creativity, patience and following a process. As grownups, paper folding is a great stress reliever and an effective way to bond further with our kids. Whether you’d like to make a simple paper boat or fold an elephant out of a dollar bill, origami is a fun, simple and inexpensive hobby. So get a piece of paper and start folding! Benefits of Carotene (Beta Carotene) as a Dietary Supplement

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

By Joyce Dietzel The beta-carotene is in fact famous for the help it gives to human’s body. One of the most known claims for beta-carotene is that it prevents cancer and heart disease and can boost our immune system. Beta Carotene is plentiful in vegetables and fruits. The 600 carotenoids are important for our health and is found in yellow, red, and deep green vegetables and fruits. Studies shows however that taking supplements for a long duration may in fact cause harm, such as the damage to our liver or increased risk of cancer which can determined only by long, large, well-designed studies. Large amount of Beta Carotene however can turn your skin slightly yellow or orange-, which is in fact harmless. Beta-carotene is an antioxidant. Antioxidants help deactivate free radicals, unstable molecules that are by products of cells “burning” oxygen for energy. Free radicals can in fact damage the basic structure of cells and therefore leading to chronic diseases, such as cancer and heart diseases. In addition, it can accelerate the aging process. However, smokers should not take this the pill of beta-carotene because studies show that smokers have an increase of the risk of lung cancer when they take beta-carotene pills. According to studies, taking Beta Carotene even not on high dose actually has a higher rate of developing lung cancer and higher mortality rate than those taking a placebo. However, the risk is only for smokers who smoked more than a pack per day and who drank more than the average amount of alcohol. Therefore, the moral lesson here is: Do not think that any supplements “can’t hurt, might help” or that antioxidants are always beneficial. There is a delicate balance of antioxidants and free radicals in our body. Smoking was a complicating factor with beta carotene but who knows what factor such as sun exposure, alcohol, medication, intense exercise might make supplement X< Y and Z dangerous? Don’t Smoke Don’t take Beta Carotene Pills if you smoke or if you are a former smoker, or if you are a heavy drinker. Eat a lot of fruits and vitamins- Even if you do not smoke, it is much better to obtain beta-carotene from foods not from the pills. There are no any evidence that beta carotene in foods can cause any danger Beta Carotene is one of the orange dyes that are found in most green leaves and in carrots. Beta Carotene is a member of family of molecules called carotenoides. Beta Carotene is made up of eight isoprene units, which are cyclised at each end. Beta Carotene is the pigment that gives carrots, sweet potatoes and other yellow vegetables their yellow coloring. Beta Carotene is also used as a colorant in margarine because the absence of it would only make margarine white. Almost all beta-carotene in supplements are synthetic consisting of only one molecule that is called all Trans beta-carotene. Natural beta-carotene found in foods is made up of two molecules - all Trans beta-carotene and 9-cis-beta-carotene. Beta Carotene s the most potent precursor to vitamin A, but its conversion to vitamin A in the body is limited by a feedback system. Beta-carotene has two roles in our body. It can indeed be converted into vitamin A if the body needs more of the vitamin. In addition, beta-carotene acts as antioxidants, which protect cells from damage caused by harmful free radicals. The richest sources of beta carotene are yellow, orange, and green leafy fruits and vegetables such as carrots, spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, broccoli, cantaloupe, and winter squash to name a few. The more intense the green, yellow or orange color is, the more beta-carotene it possess. Cooking makes it easier for beta-carotene to be fully too absorbed by the body does not destroy beta Carotene. Research shows that diets that are low in beta-carotene and carotenoids can increase the body vulnerability to damage from free radicals. As a result, long-term diets with low in beta-carotene may increase tissue damage from free radical activity and increase risk of chronic disease and cancer. Low in beta-carotene may also lead to the reduction of the effectiveness of the immune system. http://www.for-your-vitamins.com/ Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Joyce_Dietzel http://EzineArticles.com/?Benefits-of-Carotene-(Beta-Carotene)-as-a-Dietary-Supplement&id=183128 debt elimination debt consolidation bad credit debt card credit debt elimination tax relief eliminate credit card debt credit card debt elimination debt elimination illinois

18 Ways to Create Marketing Buzz

Saturday, November 24th, 2007

By Elizabeth Gordon Are you looking for ways to get people talking about your brand? An increasing frustration with traditional media has driven businesses and marketing firms to start employing more creative means of getting customers attention beyond the traditional media outlets. You may hear this referred to as viral, word-of-mouth or buzz marketing and this method is attaining broad popularity as an inexpensive and highly effective marketing method. What is Viral Marketing, Word-of-Mouth, or Buzz Marketing? Viral Marketing is a way of capturing attention of consumers and the media to the point where talking about your brand becomes interesting conversation. Generating a buzz is based on either customers personal experience with brands or what other people have told them about these brands. When this experience becomes interesting, your brand and what your company is doing become a source of entertainment, and your brand becomes newsworthy. Basically it’s unconventional, it’s economical and it’s powerful. Buzz marketing is capturing the attention of consumers and the media to the point where talking about your brand becomes entertaining, fascinating, and newsworthy. Buzz marketing is about starting conversations. In a nutshell, buzz marketing is about getting people talking and getting the media writing about your brand. With Buzz Marketing you stop talking at consumers, and start talking to them. Why does buzz work? Todays noisy advertising environment has forced marketers to become more creative and some say even slightly devious with their methods. Consumers are subject to constant information overload and are wary and distrustful of companies due to scandals and scams they have heard about or been victims of in the past. All of that buyers remorse from past bad purchase decisions has built up and created a wall of sales resistance that they psychologically throw up whenever faced with something that appears to be a marketing message or sales pitch. Conversely, consumers like to rely on friends and peers for product and service recommendations and will do less shopping around and are more apt to act based on recommendations of people the know. This has long fueled efforts to increase customer referrals for companies. Another way to enter a customers mindshare is through buzz marketing, which is simply the process of sharing information through the natural social networks of your target market that helps them in the decision-making process. That way, instead of coming from a faceless and distrusted corporation, the marketing message instead seems to emanate from the most powerful endorser possible: your coolest friend. How is it different than traditional advertising? Most marketing, advertising, and PR employs a push strategy, where you push your message out into the marketplace at people, typically when they are not seeking it. Many people do not enjoy or appreciate this approach. Good marketers know that using a pull strategy to market their products and services can result in close rates at least twice as high as a traditional push strategy. Doubling your marketing effectiveness is certainly worth paying attention to. Buzz marketing is powerful because it gets customers to seek you out. Why is this a good time for Buzz? Marketing today is in a state of turmoil. Industry leaders say traditional marketing campaigns, based on mass media advertising, are not working anymore. And the facts back them up. A 2004 study into advertising effectiveness by Deutsche Bank in the US consumer packaged goods sector found that only 18 percent of television advertising campaigns generate a positive return on annual investment, while the Harvard Business Review reports that for every dollar invested into traditional advertising for consumer packaged goods, the short-term return on investment is just 54 cents. Marketing in the business-to-business sector fares no better. An astonishing 84 percent of B2B marketing campaigns actually result in a fall in market share and brand equity. Word of mouth connections are highly influential. A 2004 UK survey of 10,000 consumers by consultants CIA:MediaEdge found that 76 percent cite word of mouth as their main influence on their purchasing decisions, compared with traditional advertising’s mere 15 percent. In the US, NOP (now GfK) research shows that 92 percent of Americans cite word of mouth as their preferred source of product information. Studies show that when it comes to generating excitement about products, word of mouth is 10 times more effective than TV or print advertising. Younger consumers, who are still forming their brand preferences, are among the most coveted by marketers. These days they spend less time planted in front of the tube and are more skeptical about the messages they receive there. Therefore a recommendation for a product or service from a trusted friend is more memorable and convincing than the cleverest television ad and more likely to be turned into action. What are the benefits? Many are saying that buzz represents the future and will surpass traditional ads in regards to maintaining consumer brand-interest. If I can involve one person really deeply in my brand in 50 cities, vs. 50 people in one city, I’ll take the former every time, says Mark Hughes, author of Buzzmarketing: Get People to Talk About Your Stuff. Jon Berry of research company Nop World, and author of The Influentials, argues that word of mouth is worth more than twice what it was in the 1970s in affecting consumer purchases, and it’s 150 percent more influential than newspaper and magazine advertising or articles. Another benefit of buzz marketing is the ability to break through customers natural defense mechanisms that they typically have up when receiving marketing messages. Customers think of you more like a friend and less like a business trying to sell them something, and that is a great place to be. Youre speaking faceto-face, which gives you attention and mindshare. Another reason word of mouth works so well is credibility. When your friend, neighbor, co-worker or a family member tells you about a great movie, product or service you believe them. Theyre not being paid to pitch the item and so you give them full credibility. Thats why having a great product matters so much: If you can really wow people, they will tell their friends and neighbors. Such face-to-face attention creates superior memory retrieval. In a study of two groups presented with advertising information with the brand removed, only 49 percent of people recalled advertising based on a visual cue, while 70 percent recalled advertising from a thirty-second musical cue. Given the right context of attention, audio stimuli can be far superior to visual. Buzz marketing is one of the hottest trends in marketing today. By applying these 18 techniques in your business youll see people buzzing about your brand. Heres how to do it: 1. Start with your initial or existing base of satisfied customers. While enrolling new consumers, a successful buzz marketing strategy bases itself on the impact these consumers could have on the next potential customer. Providing a positive customer experience establishes trust. This trust is rewarded with consumers acting as buzz marketing agents, literally working for brands free of charge. The consumers who are first to climb aboard and become evangelists of your brand. 2. Pick a target market you can find. Where does your target market hang out? If youre selling hot pink lipstick you might find that your main customers are at the corner of Pine and Main Street wearing stilettos and pleather. Make them easily definable and be able to name the specific areas where they go so you can target your target market. 3. Find the thought leaders. Every social culture has its thought leaders. Building a successful buzz campaign hinges on finding the right carriers for the message: influencers who are obsessed with staying one step ahead of their peers. You must find, connect, and collaborate with the people who influence your brand, lead opinions, and spread word of mouth. Look for opinion-leading individuals who frequently offer or are elicited for category-related advice. Thought leaders are the 10percent of society that help influence the majority of all purchasing decisions. They are not necessarily the customers who spend the most money with you, but they are the most important people you can reach because your target market takes their advice. They hold a social power that will amplify the affect of your word of mouth campaign. After finding influencers, make sure that you develop ongoing, two-way relationships with them from giving them a trial before the product is available to the mass market, to going back a step and getting them involved in your research and development. Try to give them experiences that exceed expectations. This will generate goodwill and advocacy that will go a long way toward kick-starting positive word of mouth and wider interest in your product, service, or campaign. 4. Again, find the influences and give out freebies. Think outside of the box. Rather than blitzing the airways with expensive TV commercials, give out freebies to select people who are trendsetters. Targeting the influential people you will get more visibility for your product or service by others who are their friends or assistants and who will buy based on the trendsetters. It is worth it to give out what you can for free that will allow customers to experience how great your brand is. 5. Use fake shoppers. One way to get closer to your customers is to show up right under their noses without them even seeing you. Often buzz marketers cover their tracks, at least initially. Slip into the conversational pathways of the target market and those who heavily influence their peers. 6. Work at a grassroots level. Get out there and hit the streets. Buzz requires manpower, whether its volunteers, paid representative, or evangelists that just cant stop talking. Create a culture around your brand, something that people can stand for, support and be proud of. Get into their neighborhoods. The most successful buzz marketers start on the streets, in the places people live, eat, work, socialize, etc.. 7. Piggyback off an existing trend or cause. Look for a trend that your target audience is currently interested in, such as environmentalism. If you can show them that you are interested in the same things that they are, youll make fast friends and get them talking. 8. Go to the point of sale. Stage an impromptu demonstration, create a display that will attract your customers or have actors put on a show around your product. If you are going to get people talking, get them talking as close to the point of purchase decision as possible. 9. The more unusual and shocking the better. Traditional ad campaigns have lost some of their punch while quirkier campaigns have generated huge grassroots followings for their brands with laughably low marketing expenditures. Use what people naturally like to talk about by creating a messages that contain one or more of these 6 elements. The taboo (sex, lies, bathroom humor, etc.) The unusual The outrageous The hilarious The remarkable Secrets (both kept and revealed) 10. Be completely believable. When you have your consumer do marketing for you, it is credible, less expensive and enormously believable. 11. Make it personal. Using the viral strategy on a humdrum product category, will not yield your best results. Buzz marketing still seems to work best for the relatively narrow range of products and services that consumers care deeply about because of their physical intimacy, technical complexity or status-enhancing potential. 12. Create a sense of scarcity. Lure those key consumers with coveted items–whether hot news, loaner cars, or cool gadgets–that are in short supply, and let the buzz begin. 13. Be bold and extreme. Companies that play on the extremes of being either totally authentic or blatantly unoriginal are memorable and different. Although a buzz campaign may have fictional elements, the premise should be true to the brand. Make sure your buzz campaign fits with your overall ad strategy. Similarly, being totally irreverent can get people talking as well; just make sure consumers don’t feel duped. Be sure to test your humor out on a sample of your target market first. 14. Leverage the internet and buzz with blogs. From large corporations such as GM and Microsoft to entrepreneurs, businesspeople of all kinds are using blogs as a tool to connect with customers and internal audiences in new ways. They’re generating unprecedented buzz, and exponentially amplifying word of mouth marketing. A single successful blog can attract tens or even hundreds of thousands of visitors. Done right, they can give back loyalty, goodwill, and valuable feedback. The best part is they often spread that message to others within their sphere of influence through blogs, instant messenger or e-mail. 15. Dont overlook quality and customer service. Make sure that your product, service or brand is of a quality level that stands out next to competitors. The last thing you want is to have all this talk you generated turn into complaints. Customer service should be given extra attention while you are working a buzz campaign. Good service and superior quality are so unique they create an inherent buzz of self-propelling word of mouth and customer recommendations. 16. Do something innovative. Buzz is great for anything new and innovative, but if your product is not innovative in itself, then put extra creativity in the execution to generate that buzz. 17. Measure as much as you can. Connected marketing is not about control; its about management. You cannot manage what you cannot measure. The initial contact may look spontaneous, but it’s anything but, and the back end of your campaign should be meticulously planned and the results carefully measured. Marketers are even attempting to quantify how often their message will be passed along and how many downstream consumers they need to influence before a fad is born. Obviously, using online capabilities will make this kind of measurement more easily and precisely monitored. At the very least it will show you whether or not your efforts paid for themselves, best case scenario you can determine the exact ROI. Figure out what types of data do you want to collect, the measurement of recommendation rates, what specific actions should be taken post-measurement, and what influences the recommended rate and how marketers improve recommendation rates. 18. Integrate the campaign with the overall marketing strategy. It is time to develop internal and external connected marketing strategies that integrate product development and marketing activities in innovative ways, enabling consumers and businesses to connect and collaborate with each other as respected partners in order to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. Dont fall into thinking that if you get buzz you don’t need any marketing. Buzz marketing should be one part of an overall integrated marketing communications plan. Good buzz is the best thing you could wish for. But, in most cases, distribution, advertising, promotion and other traditional concepts are essential to translate the goodwill surrounding your product into sales. The focus should be not on whether something is classified as traditional or guerrilla, mainstream or viralbut on whether it works. Focus on results, and don’t get caught up in any single marketing ideology. It is best to start little fires in lots of places and fan them afterwards. Implement these techniques and watch the buzz get started. For more information about how you can create a marketing buzz, visit www.flourishingbusiness.com. If You Are Trying To Lose Weight, Get All The Garbage Out Of Your Refrigerator

Friday, November 23rd, 2007

By Gregg Hall Many people are looking for ways to lose weight and become healthier. There are many weight loss programs being offered on television, in magazines and just about every where you look. There are even pills that you can take that promise to facilitate weight loss and build muscles. Some of them are very expensive and others offer unrealistic plans and goals that have failure written all over them. You don’t have to spend a lot of extra money to try to get healthier and shed pounds. You also don’t have to experiment with different diets. The best place to start to lose weight and feel great is right in your kitchen. Your kitchen probably has many unhealthy foods, just waiting for your consumption. Before you go on your next shopping trip, remove these items from your kitchen. Start with cabinets and get rid of all of those fattening chips, cookies or any other unhealthy snacks that are impeding your weight loss. Move onto the refrigerator and freezer. Toss out the half eaten containers of ice cream and sugar filled sodas. If it isn’t healthy, get rid of it. Your body will thank you. Now, you can head to the grocery store. Make a list and stick to it. Ignore all of the displays of cakes and donuts and pay attention to the fresh produce aisle. Fill your cart with a variety of vegetables. Make sure to choose some from every color. Vegetables will supply you with needed vitamins and minerals. They pack large amounts of fiber to help you feel full and reduce your appetite. Instead of candy, by fresh fruit for a healthy way to satisfy your sweet tooth. Instead of fat laden fried chips, buy baked ones. You can dip them in low fat salsa for extra taste and enjoyment. Also try eating dried fruits and nuts for snacks. They are healthy and they taste great. Instead of ice cream, by sugar free fudge cycles. These have a rich taste that will trick your taste buds into believing that they’re getting ice cream. You can also get low fat frozen yogurt which is just as tasty as ice cream. Another great desert is sugar free gelatin. You can top it with fruit and a sugar free whipped topping. There’s no reason not to enjoy your food, just enjoy healthier ones. Replace fatty meats with lean cuts and fish. Try baking them instead of frying them to reduce fat. Instead of heavy sauces, sprinkle some soy sauce and garnish with sesame seeds for extra flavor. You can get cookbooks that will teach you how to prepare low fat delicious meals. Eat on smaller plates, like square sushi plates. The smaller the plate, the smaller the portion and make your table attractive by adding fresh flowers. By stocking your kitchen with healthy foods instead of fattening ones, your weight loss goals will be achieved. Gregg Hall is an author living in Navarre Florida. The Proper Way Of Filing An Advance Cash Form To Get Immediate Results

Thursday, November 22nd, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Rick_Crawford]Rick Crawford Filling out a cash advance application may be a simple matter. Most companies would even allow you to fill out an application through their website. All the pertinent data are gathered into the online application which will necessitate them to verify the validity of your information as an essential point in credit processing within 24 hours. The process is less intimidating and goes much quicker. Answering the questions contained on the cash advance form is also easy because they are merely questions that concern your vital information and are not difficult to answer. Most forms would include common questions like your name, where you live and work, etc. Most companies do not even ask if you can pay back your loan on time. Filling out a cash advance form online is even easier because the companies try to make the process as easy and simple for the consumer as possible. This makes the customer less exposed to the questioning queries when personally availing of a loan in front of numerous other clients. They are more likely to utilize the service if the process is as quick and as simple. Most companies can provide an approval within 24 hour period, which is ideal for those who are besieged with a pressing financial scenario. A borrower needs to comply with the minimum age requirement of 18 years old and above with an income of at least $1200 a month to acquire cash advance. Ensuring the earning capacity of their customers usually allows the cash advance companies to protect their unsecured release of the loan from non-paying clients who do not have a job to rely on even for their own needs… [http://www.cashadvancecrib.com/the-proper-way-of-filing-an-advance-cash-form-to-get-an-immediate-result.html]CONTINUE Article Taken From http://www.CashAdvanceCrib.com This article is written by Rick Crawford. 2 Year Online Internet Researcher And Webmaster of CashAdvanceCrib.com Original Article Location: [http://www.CashAdvanceCrib.com/the-proper-way-of-filing-an-advance-cash-form-to-get-an-immediate-result.html]The Proper Way Of Filing An Advance Cash Form To Get An Immediate Result Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Rick_Crawford http://EzineArticles.com/?The-Proper-Way-Of-Filing-An-Advance-Cash-Form-To-Get-Immediate-Results&id=316196 order propecia from bosley buy propecia online dreampharmaceuticalscom prescription finasteride prostate propecia and low sperm count

Cashback on Mobile Phones, Up to 100 Percent

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Eric_Hartwell]Eric Hartwell Without doubt, the mobile phone market has been nothing less than revolutionary. Only a few short years ago, phones were fixed items - part of the furniture of the house and home. These objects were also rather bland until their design began to become fashionable. And almost as soon as that happened, so did the introduction of the mobile phone. We were captivated by our phones, but we were no longer captive in our homes. At first, mobile phones were large, unsightly and unwieldy. Oh, and, of course, expensive. A good proportion of the weekly family spend was needed to purchase and maintain one. They were the province of enthusiasts or those with more money than sense. Then, an explosion took place. The populace began to take mobile phones into their hearts. It was no longer unfashionable to be seen with one as they became smaller, sleeker and pretty cool to own. And, one further thing happened. The prices dropped. As the clamour for mobile phones and accessories gained momentum, so the enormous profit potential of the manufacturers was plain. Prices came down in the knowledge that the majority of the population, including children, wanted - even needed - a mobile friend. The explosion continued and eventually providers were happy to lure prospects with the promise of a host of goodies. Of these (including free texts, downloads and airtime) the cashback was, and still is, the most valuable. In this way, providers are able to promise a significant amount of cashback on certain phones that are sold, with the proviso that a contract is taken out for a minimum period. This cashback, quite often up to 100%, would be honoured after a certain period of time and with the initiation of the request from the customer. Most customers forget to initiate a request and therefore never fulfil the conditions needed for cashback. But, those that do, find that they have the full and uninterrupted use of a mobile phone for a year or even 18 months. Then, in order to save as much as possible, the phone can be discarded or sold, and the money-saving process repeated again and again! Such offers are evergreen and a little bit of searching can bring many dividends and surprises. …. as well as a bright and shiny, new, sleek mobile phone! A Harvard Law School Takes a look at Prenuptial Agreements

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

By Jeffrey Broobin What is The Reason that Most People, Dont Have a Prenuptial Agreement? A recent release of a paper by a Harvard Law School Olin Fellow explains that about 5 percent of married people have such an agreement, although the facts are that more then 50 percent of marriages end up in a divorce. This Harvard Law graduate explains what she has discovered. What Inspired Her to Research the Facts on Prenuptial Agreements? The facts are that more then half of marriages terminate and these once loving couples end up in divorce court, and a microscopic 5 percent have prenuptial agreements in place. Most of the perspective mates upon deliberation decide that if they bring the possibility of a prenup up to there would be intended, it suggests that they are planning for divorce, she concluded. She would investigate why couples were not protecting themselves with prenuptial agreements. What is the Reason Couples Contemplating Marriage, dont have a Prenuptial Agreement? The two main reasons that prevent people from asking their perspective partner to sign to a prenuptial agreement. First of all, as stated previously the majority of couples feel it predicts doom to suggest a prenuptial agreement to their perspective partner. Rumor has it that when Jennifer Lopez asked Ben Affleck to agree to a prenup, Ben Affleck ended the relationship. The other reason is the majority of couples believe that in spite of the statistics showing that more then half of all marriages end in divorce, it will never happen to them. They believe their there love will overcome any possible obstacles that can occur in their relationship and that their foundation is unbendable and more stable then most people, and divorce will never happen. Is it true as the courts have stated that prenuptial agreements are not absolutely contrary to promoting the stability of marriage? The reality is a Prenuptial Agreement can create a situation where the marriage will be more difficult to terminate rather then easier to end. You can design a prenup that states divorce can not happen unless a travesty has occurred, like being unfaithful or whatever you decide is important as a couple. And in contrast, the majority of states accept no fault divorce. Is it a fact that when prenups have additional instruction besides divisions of assets and state specific provisions when a divorce can occur, be upheld in court. To the best of my understanding this type of Prenuptial Agreement has not been tested in divorce court. In past years every state insisted that a spouse show fault before a divorce could be granted. But there are states that accept an agreement for a “covenant marriage” where one spouse will be required to show fault before filing for divorce. It would be unlikely that any court would limit a couples prenup because it has requirements for a divorce. Are children of divorce more likely to have a Prenuptial Agreement before they marry? Shocking as it seems, the answer is no! As stated previously the reasons couples dont have a prenup in place is not logical but emotional. Neither partner wants to create a situation that predicts doom. There are also other significant factors that should be mentioned. 1) If one of the partners has wealth, it is likely they will insist on a prenup. If you are married it is unlikely you will ask for a prenup. 3) Women will usually not insist on a prenup. Would you suggest that Prenuptial Agreements be Mandatory? It is important to understand why a prenuptial agreement is a win, win situation for both parties. After examining the research above, I would recommend a prenup. A mandatory prenuptial agreement would be beneficial to couples. It would eliminate that uncomfortable discussion of bringing up the matter because everyone would be required to deal with it as a matter of law, even if they feel they will never divorce. Also the practice may eliminate unrealistic optimism of what the future may bring. Since everyone that marries will have a prenuptial agreement it will create a smoother transition into marriage. If this law was in place perhaps Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck would still be together? Behavioral Interview Techniques

Sunday, November 18th, 2007

By Yulin Peng Below are some behavioral interview techniques that you’ll find useful: 1. Be prepared for the interview by analyzing and making an educated guess as to which skills are most desired by the employer. You can study the job description of the position or go to some job boards to review requirement sections of related jobs. 2. Compile a list of skills that are relevant to the position you are applying. 3. Identify behavioral interview questions by introductory phases like “Tell me about a time when…,” ” Describe a situation where you…,” “Give me an example of…” etc. 4. Listen carefully to each question. If necessary, rephrase the question and ask for clarification. 5. Use STAR formula to answer behavioral interview question. STAR stands for Situation, Task, Action and Result. Make sure that your answers are detailed and specific. This behavioral interview technique is widely recommended by career advisors. 6. Use your real-life examples instead of your opinions or theoretical statements. The employers want to know what you have done in the past, not what you think you would do in the future. 7. Vary the length of your answers. You can prepare short description of each situation but be ready to give details if asked. You can also determine if you have given enough information by asking questions like, “Would you like more details on that?” “Would you like another example?” 8. Be honest. It will be bad for you if the interviewer find out that your story is built on weak foundation. An Exploration into Homoeopathic Healing Powers!

Saturday, November 17th, 2007

By Dr. R. Thiyagarajan As a result, millions of sufferers of chronic diseases are deprived of the homoeopathic treatment simply because of the ignorance about its existence! This is indeed cruel, as in the age of information; deprivation of the homeopathic advantage merely because of the lack of information is intolerable. It is now possible for you to ask and know about the role of homoeopathy for a specific disease condition. For instance, you may ask: ‘Does homeopathy have anything to offer for the treatment of Migraine or Asthma?’ You will be offered genuine information as to what homoeopathy could offer for the said complaint. You will be informed about the scope and limitation of homeopathy with respect to various diseases. However, it is not within the scope of this service to prescribe you any medicine over the Internet. If you want to consider homoeopathic treatment, you will be sent necessary information for the same. Unlike other medicines, Homoeopathy medicines usually do not have any side effects. Their ability to cause structural damage is nil. The reason for this is that Homoeopathy medicines act by stimulating the body’s own defense mechanism and healing powers. They do not have any chemical action, so they do not have the potential to cause any sustained damage. The doses are given in sub-physiological quantities. So they can be given to children and adults alike without worrying about the dosage. Safe for every one. Homoeopathy medicines are very effective - in both acute and chronic conditions. Homoeopathy in fact, is the only system of medicine which offers curative treatment (not palliative) to a large number of chronic ailments which have been labeled as ‘incurable’ by other schools of medicine. Homoeopathy medicines, if selected properly, give results faster than any other systems of medicine. Homoeopathy medicine is usually dispensed as sweet sugar pills, which are very easy to take. Due to this reason, children readily agree to take Homeopathy medicines. Homoeopathy treatment is affordable: Homoeopathy medicines are usually much cheaper than comparable allopathic and ayurvedic drugs. And also there is little stress on costly diagnostic procedures as homeopaths rely on the symptoms to find the right medicine for a person. So the overall cost of treatment is very little. Still this may not appear so to many people in Western countries as Homoeopathy treatment is usually not covered by insurance companies. But that’s myopic vision. One has to think of long-term gains. Under proper Homoeopathy treatment not only the person’s immediate complaints improve, but also his/her susceptibility to disease decreases as there is a general improvement in health. So in the long run, there is better health, less medical consultations and the cumulative cost is very low. Even otherwise, hasn’t some wise man said. ..”Health is the real Wealth”? Homoeopathy considers the complaints of a patient in totality. It views a person as a whole, as an integrated entity, and not as a mere collection of body parts. So it treats the person as a whole too. Thus one does not have to visit ten different ’specialists’ for his/her ten different body parts. After all our body is more than a collection of parts! So Homoeopathy saves your time, money and health at the same time. Dr. R.
